On a server, which is a 'used-to-be' one, I was merely 2 hours in it and a 'Head-Admin' was burning some players, via flint and steel.
I was confused about this 'Head-Admin' at first, so I let him alone and continued my survival. Then he started to burn houses, which fired me up a little. Then I asked the 'Owner', "What the hell is your dude doing there?". And he looks at him say, "Stop burning people's houses." Then he stopped.
But then 5 minutes after, the 'Owner' was afk, and that dude started burning again.
"I'm gonna keep watching you burning those houses all day. c:", I said.
Then he tried to burn me, which failed, because I'm standing in a pool. And I was like, "o-o ..."
Then the 'Owner' came back and was like, "What's with all these burnt down houses?" Then the 'Head-Admin' dropped the flint and steel to me. "He did it."
Then I was like, "Oh yeah? Then why am I still in the same spot for 10 minutes, staring at you flying around those houses with this flint and steel."
He got demoted to 'Admin', which angered him to grief the server more.
After the houses have been repaired in 20 minutes, the 'Owner' left and he burned them again. "What are you doing? o-o", I said.
"What does it look like I'm doing?" ... "-areyoukiddingmeface-"
Then I just sat there, watching him do more damage. I was unable to help, because my bag is empty. Went on about 10 minutes of burning again. Then 'Owner' came on and he left. "What's with all these houses again?"
"He burnt them... again. o-o ..." He was demoted to 'Guest', name banned, and IP banned.
After exactly 12 hours of gameplay in that server, he announced to the server that I was directly promoted from 'Member' to 'Admin, skipping the rank 'Moderator'.
I was glad, and I was dedicated to help the server and prevent future griefs.
What I used to do while I was still in that server was...
If someone is breaking down/into someone's house, kill them. So that they respawn back at the unbreakable spawn area.
If the player did it 5 times in total, it was just a kick. At the 6th time, it was a temporary ban.
And directly after his temporary ban, if he decides to grief again, it was permanent ban.
And also, directly after a grief attempt, I would repair the house immediately, but that's only if I'm not distracted by people in the real world.
However, I used to have exceptions for certain players, who were always 'forgetting'. Not that they intend to break the rules, because the reason they broke into people's houses was because they needed resources.
But~... That's just my past experience. I'm not sure what happens in this server.
Also... is the server premium? If it is, I can't join. ;^;
