Forum Rules / Forum Rules
« Last post by Iain (Administrator) on April 14, 2012, 03:00:08 am »
Forum Rules

1. Treat other members with the respect they deserve. This should go without saying, but treat others like you would like to be treated !

2. The forum language is English only! Please only post in other languages in PM.

3. Please do not spam. The definition of spam is an irrelevant or advertising post. Any post considered spam will be removed.

4. Please do not post threads text in all CAPITALS since this is considered to be shouting and is not necessary.

5. Please refrain from posting images larger than 800x600. This is considerate to members with slow internet speeds, and keeps the forum looking tidy.

6. Using red text is forbidden. Only moderators and administrators may use this.

7. Insulting and flaming or personal attacks against forum staff will be not tolerated.

8. Please be considerate in language you use on the forum, some of our members are younger than others. Swearing is not completely banned, just do not swear unnecessarily, and only use minor words. A filter is in place to safeguard this system.

9. No hacking, and illegal activity, such as torrents and illegal downloads, this will not be tolerated, and if appropriate, may be reported to local authority.

10. Please do not post inappropriate material, I think everyone understands what I mean by this. The policy goes that if you would not feel comfortable viewing it at work, or in front of children or parents, don't post it !

I think these rules are clear, and easy to follow. These are only in place to ensure our community is a fun place to be, and a comfortable atmosphere for all.

What happens if I break a rule?

Depending on the severity of the infraction, a different course of action may be taken, but the usual practice is as follows :

1st rule break (Minor offence):

Corrected, A PM may of been sent, no further action taken

For a more serious offence, a warning will be issued, this is a mark against your name letting us know you have broken a rule

2nd rule break.

Another warning

3rd rule break

On your 3rd warning, you will receive a temporary ban, the length of which will depend on the severity of the incident.

On another breach of rules:

After this it will be assumed you will not learn your lesson, so you will receive a permanent ban, meaning you will never be able to visit the forum again.

If you have any questions regarding the rules feel free to PM any member of site staff, who will be able to clear things up for you.

Forum games / Count to 50 b4 a Admin or a Mod posts
« Last post by Iain (Administrator) on April 13, 2012, 07:23:13 pm »
Count to 50 before a mod posts!

The goal of this game is simple: count to 50 before a Forum or BitzCraft Moderator posts.

Players should attempt to count, in order, to 50 before a Forum or BitzCraft Moderator makes a post. Each player may only post one number at a time and should not post twice in a row. This means that before a player posts a second number, a different player must post before them.

An example game:

Player A: 1
Player B: 2
Player C: 3
Player A: 4
Player D: 5
Moderator: 0!
Player B: 1

If, by mistake, two or more of the same number is posted in a row by different players, those 'duplicate' numbers may not be counted as a new number. For instance, if two 10's were posted, the next player may not continue at 12. Instead, he or she must continue at 11.

To make things simpler, the rules of this thread are thus:

● One number per post.
● No player may post twice in a row.
● Once a Moderator posts, either a Forum or BitzCraft Moderator, the count sets back down to 0.
● If two or more posts in a row have the same number, they cannot be counted as the number they were meant to be.
● Duplicate posts/numbers should not be edited!
● Numbers must be posted in order.

Please keep in mind that the Forum Code of Conduct still applies on this thread!

We would like to thank all the players who have helped with running this server. It's been great fun thus far, so let's keep the ball rolling!

This game has grown in popularity over the week and with many threads like this cropping up all over this Forum, it's been hard for us Moderators to keep up with them all. So as an attempt to control the increasing numbers, we've created this sticky. So from now on, we're going to use this thread to play the game. There are bound to be some active Forum or BitzCraft Moderators around, so be prepared for a challenge!

Please note that the target has increased from the regular 15 or 20 count to the current 50 count. We did this to not only make it easier on us Moderators , but also to allow us time to work on our other duties too! Is this too much of a challenge for you guys? Course not! we'll give you all a fair chance...if you can count fast enough that is.

Ok, let the counting commence!

.|.|_|..|.._../|.._..|\.\_/\_/ /
.|___/|_|.\.\|.|..|.|..\_/\_/

This guide only teaches you how to draw without your picture messing up. It won't exactly make you an expert.

1. The size of the character you use determines how much you can put on one line. These characters are recommended for drawing: _ $ ? #. You can put 76 of those on one line.

1 1/2. When you get finished with one line, press Enter; don't let it go to the next line automatically.

2. No matter how many times you press the space bar in a row, it will only show as one space.
| |
I pressed the space bar 10 times there, and it only showed as one. It's good to use periods as spaces.
|..........|

For bigger drawings, you can use bigger symbols for bigger spaces.
|__________|

**Usually people put periods for the middle of an object, and the line for the top and bottom of an object.

._____
|.........|
|..HI....|
|_____|

2 1/2. Again, it's best to avoid using characters that are different sizes if you're a beginner. If you want to try drawing this way, go on a Word document and set the font to Arial, then draw your picture. When you're done, copy it (highlight it and press Ctrl+C), then paste it (Ctrl+V) in the Reply screen.

3. Some symbols are bigger than others. Before you press Post, it looks like it's all the same length. After you hit Post, you'll notice that some symbols are bigger than others.
..........
__________
There are 10 of each of those symbols. They looked the same length before I pressed Post.
So try to use symbols that are the same size if you want your drawing to come out right.
If you want to find out what symbols are the same size, use this method:
Press Shift+\ to make |
Make two of them together, then press enter and make another two together, like this:
||
||
Put the symbols you want to measure in between the lines. If I wanted to measure + and *, this is how I would put it:
|+++++|
|*****|

I put 5 pluses+ and 5 asterisks* in between the lines.
The lines at the end aren't even. The five asterisks* doesn't take as much space as five pluses+, so if I try to use those together in a drawing, it's going to mess up.
You can tell that these next two are the same size because the last | are lined up:
|+++++l
|=====l

3 1\2. Ignore the last part of Tip #3 if it's too confusing. Just use $ _ # ? because they don't censor and they're the same size.

4. Shapes are a good start for beginners.
Here's a circle.
################
##???????????###
#??#########??##
??###########??#
??###########??#
#??#########??##
##???????????###
################

5. Shading is a nice little technique that can make your picture look more realistic. Example:
################
##???????????_##
#??_########??_#
??_##########??_
??_##########??_
#??_########??_#
##???????????_##
################

Obviously I used _ to shade my circle.
There are other ways to shade, but this is my way.

Bored? Draw #ere!

Ever wondered why it's "Draw #ere!" and not "Draw 'ere!"? Simple typo, but it's one that has become Forum lore!

Sticky Specific Rules:

1. Posting obscene pictures may be a great display of your artistic talents but will unfortunately result in a ban. Fair enough?

2. It may be the highest form of flattery but please don't copy other people's work!

3. I'm sure it goes without saying, but just to put it out there, all other forum rules apply.

Everyone happy with that? Ok, Draw #ere!

This or That!

There are certain questions which have been puzzling mankind since the dawn of time.
Epic questions whose answers could unlock the secrets of life, the universe and
everything. Questions such as "Who'd win in a fight? Chuck Norris or the Hulk?"

Here you can finally answer those questions and settle the heated debates once and
for all. Here's how it works:

Player one:

Yellow
Pies or the This or That game?

Player two:

This or That!
Football or fleas?

My Question:

Face-palm or high-five?
